Publishers submitted up to 5 of their titles published in the past 12 months for 9 - 11 year olds.  Reading and evaluation of the resulting longlist by children from 7 primary schools across Shropshire took place between September and November 2015.  Using the children’s comments and with the support of the Book Award Steering Group, the shortlist came into existence.
