In a new development, Book Award 2018 will consist of two projects:
The 'Big Book Award' is a child-led reading development project delivered into Shropshire primary schools to find the book published in the previous two years that 9-11 year olds love the most.
The 'Picture Book Award' follows the same format, but is for Years 1 and 2 i.e. 6/7 year olds.

Primary schools across Shropshire will be contacted in September with details as to how they can book their pupils onto the Book Award 2018 project. If you would like to be added to our database, please email us here as soon as you can. The closing date for schools to send in their booking forms is 13th October 2017.

Who is this for? KS1 and KS2 teachers from Shropshire primary schools.
Focus: To mark the launch of the KS1 and KS2 Shrewsbury Bookfest Book Awards for 2018 plus workshops throughout the day. The conference will focus on inspiring children to read for pleasure, visual literacy, being creative with books and exploring strategies to help children develop a deep love of reading.

Cost: FREE for schools participating in Shrewsbury Bookfest Book Award 2018. Delegate fee for those not participating in Book Award 2018 is £50 per person.
