Fran is a professional storyteller and illustrator who, over the years, has perfected his storytelling art in all sorts of venues such as schools, libraries, festivals, village events, prisons, stately homes and gardens. His distinctive illustrations have appeared in various locations and books.
Through his storytelling, Fran takes the children on a wonderful journey where they see magic made and worlds unfold before their mind’s eye. They will see ghosts of ancient warriors walk across their classroom floor, and fairies dance before them. They will be transported from their classroom to a woodland glade, mountain top, haunted house or to a sunlit garden.
Fran takes the children to the gentle places where myth, legend and reality become one.
Cartoon Workshops
Fran talks to the children about his illustration work and his studio – including the different techniques that he uses and the challenge of working to deadlines. He will need a flipchart easel and pad – the children will need a pencil and paper. He will then demonstrate some of his preferred techniques for the children to try themselves. The children will leave with some drawings that they have done themselves. Ideal location is in the classroom.
Ideal audience size: Up to 30
