Fran O’Boyle
Shrewsbury Children’s Bookfest was
delighted to welcome traditional storyteller and illustrator
Fran O’Boyle back to Shrewsbury for his second event this year.
Fran works with children around the country, both through
storytelling festivals and school workshops.
He delighted a small group of children at the Shropshire
Wildlife Trust Centre, taking them on a memorable imaginary
journey to some mysterious places. We even ended up in the
grounds of Shrewsbury Castle with three witches! Fran said,
“Storytelling is for everyone, not just children”, and he
provided entertainment for children and parents alike. Everyone
was captivated by his gentle, engaging style and took no
persuading to get up and join in with some singing and dancing.
We are looking forward to welcoming him back to Schools' Week in
March 2009.
What the audience said:
"It was great. We both enjoyed it, ages 3 and 43."
"A lovely session - we both enjoyed it."
