There are a number of ways you might be able to get involved with Shrewsbury Bookfest:
The volunteer role at the Bookfest events is hugely important as the volunteer is the ‘public face’ of Shrewsbury Bookfest and therefore excellent face to face customer service skills are required.
We ask that volunteers can give us at least 3 hours of their time to support the Front of House Managers of the event(s) during our public events, so this role is good for first timers or those with less time available.
Volunteers on the Committee usually meet around 5-6 times a year (in Shrewsbury) to discuss, plan and share ideas for past, on-going and future projects. This role also requires the volunteer to represent Shrewsbury Bookfest at its events and any other relevant meetings that may arise. Basic expenses incurred in this role are covered by Shrewsbury Bookfest.
If you are a school (primary or secondary) who is interested in any of our schools' based projects (such as Book Award or Schools' Week) or would simply like recommendations and ideas on author/illustrator visits, then please get in touch.
We'd love to hear from you! We work with a huge number of fantastic people involved in all areas of children's literature and are always delighted to reach out to more. So please get in touch with us!
