Biography  

Kaye Umansky was born and grew up in Devon. When she left school, Kaye came to London to train as a teacher. She taught music, drama and creative writing for many years before becoming a published author. Kaye is most well-known for her Pongwiffy series about a smelly witch. The series celebrated 21 years in 2009 with a brand new title, Pongwiffy Back on Track. She also writes poetry, songbooks and picture books. Kaye now lives in London with her husband, daughter and two mischievous cats!

 Event synopsis

A fun and frantic session filled with funny poems, fairy tale raps and lots of witchy goings-on! Kaye is excellent at talking to young people and can make the session interactive. She talks a little about how she writes but concentrates on the real fun elements of all her work.

Ideal audience size – 25 to 300 children
