Event synopsis 2
Event synopsis 1
Illustration workshops Years 3-6 (90 minutes-2 hours)
Lynne talks about what it’s like to be an illustrator and explains how a picture book evolves. She reads one of her stories and shows original art work and sketched roughs. Children can ask questions followed by a brain-storming session to generate illustration ideas. The children then create their own illustrations on a theme linked to the story.
Event synopsis 3
Lynne begins by talking about what it’s like to be a writer and illustrator. She explains how a picture book evolves and reads and analyses one of her books with the children. She then brainstorms the group and, through a series of imagination exercises, creates characters for the children to write about and suggests ideas for taking their stories in unexpected directions.
Writing workshops Years 3-6 (1-2 hours)
One of Lynne’s favourites! She reads two stories and then draws funny animal pictures for the children to guess and keep. The children sing, and Lynne is generally rather silly. Midway, there’s a break for the children to draw something related to the stories. Lively, noisy and fun!
Storytelling Reception – Year 2 (45 mins minimum, 90 minutes more fun!)
Lynne Chapman will be visiting Market Drayton Juinior School on Tuesday 13th and Longden Primary on Wednesday 14th March.
