SATURDAY 2ND MAY:
SUNDAY 3RD MAY:
This was an eagerly anticipated event within the festival, with tickets selling out within days of their release. Hundreds of Minecraft fans far and wide arrived at the event in Shrewsbury to listen to Matt Needler and Phil Southam, authors of the Mindcraft handbooks talk about their life in Minecraft and how to construct the most awesome builds.
Minecraft is a game about breaking and placing blocks. At first, people built structures to protect against nocturnal monsters, but as the game grew players worked together to create wonderful, imaginative things.
It can also be about adventuring with friends or watching the sun rise over a blocky ocean. It’s pretty. Brave players battle terrible things in The Nether, which is more scary than pretty. You can also visit a land of mushrooms if it sounds more like your cup of tea.
Event supported by Egmont Books
Who or What age are these books aimed at?
Egmont are a children's publisher, so they have created these books to appeal primarily to the many young fans of Minecraft out there. Having said that, Egmont also know that fans of the game of any age are extremely knowledgeable, so they've tried to ensure the books don't 'dumb down' at any stage. The Beginner's Handbook will obviously help those that are just beginning their Minecraft adventure whilst more expert players will relish the information in the Redstone Handbook which attempts to demystify this essential element.
Can you get the same info from the Wiki pages?
No. Egmont has worked with Mojang to create some really unique books. They contain exclusive guides and tips from your favourite Minecraft YouTubers and even the Mojang team themselves!
